Why are there results on VirusTotal?: The results are a false positive. The file contained in the installer program titled "GunBound.exe" is unsigned, which is what triggers the false positive result. We have worked hard to communicate with many Anti-virus vendors and they have agreed with us that GunBound Legacy is safe to play, and have updated their anti-virus databases to include our game as safe to open, most notably Microsoft Defender. We are still trying to work with all remaining anti-virus companies that still errornously flag GunBound Legacy as malicious. Thank you for your patience, and hopefully this explains why you might see a virus pop-up.

Please note: The Windows 7/8/10 version runs in Windowed mode using dxwnd. Windows 7 users can safely delete the files in the directory to run full screen, however Windows 8/10 users must retain for playability due to changes made to Windows. Research for optimum full screen settings is still being done for Windows 8/10 users. Thank you for your patience. The Windows XP version does not include dxwnd, so it runs at full screen automatically. Windows Vista is not supported at this time. Windows 11 is supported, use the Windows 7/8/10 version to play on Windows 11.

To save on bandwidth costs, we rely on Mega to host our game client installer, which helps keep GunBound Legacy free-to-play forever.

macOS: To play on macOS (Both Intel and M1 chip variants, on macOS Monterey or earlier), you must first install CrossOver from Codeweavers. Afterwards, simply install the Windows 7/8/10 version above into CrossOver. Codeweavers offers a free trial of CrossOver so you can try for yourself for free. CrossOver is a paid program. If you are feeling a bit more experimental, you can also play GunBound Legacy WITHOUT CrossOver by following the instructions outlined by clicking here.

⚠️ macOS Ventura Users: GunBound Legacy does NOT work on macOS Ventura, this affects both Apple Silicon and Intel-chip variants. No known fix at this time, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Linux: Linux users must use WineHQ, and then install the Windows 7/8/10 installer above directly into WineHQ. WineHQ is a free program.

The DirectX version 8.0 or over must be installed on your computer to run GunBound game. If not, please click the button below to download the program and follow the instruction provided.
